About us & the role
We are embarking on an ambitious journey to engage with the most vulnerable communities in our society. Part of this will be the continuation of SPACE which FfB and Project 229 have been running in partnership with Bedford Borough Council. As well as working closely with local schools, SPACE provides young people fortnightly access to a youth provision and holiday clubs specifically for children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

What we are looking for
As a SPACE Sessional Youth Worker you will play a pivotal role in securing the best outcomes for children and young people at evening youth groups and holiday clubs. You will have experience of working with children in a similar role, be an excellent communicator, and have a good understanding of the impact of adverse childhood experiences on children and young people. You will also be able to work flexible hours when required, including evenings (on average once a fortnight) and school holidays.

What we can offer you
You will be well supported by the SPACE Domestic Abuse Support Youth Worker who will provide supervisions and oversight. The offices of Project 229 and the youth clubs are based in Kempston and we will provide a safe and secure environment for you to work in.
