Wootton Community Nursery
About
Wootton Community Nursery (WCN) is located on a brand new development in Wootton, Bedford Borough and offers full day care between the hours of 8am to 6pm for children aged 6 months-5 years. WCN opened in October 2018 and boasts a bright, modern environment which is purpose built to the needs of children.
Families First Bedfordshire Nurseries invest in healthy relationships with children, parents/carers, and the community, to build the foundations for a successful transition into school life. We achieve this by:
Relationship Based Practice
Staff practice is based on the ‘Five To Thrive’ Approach and its 5 key activities for healthy brain development – Respond, Cuddle/Engage, Relax, Play and Talk, to ensure good quality interactions with children, parents and their peers. In turn this promotes the key milestones of children’s social and emotional development.

Our Environment
Families First Bedfordshire Nurseries provide a secure and loving space for children and families to grow. Children have the opportunity to develop in an organised, supportive and challenging environment to develop to their full potential. We recognise that each stage of a child’s development has unique characteristics that influence how a child will experience his or her environment, which will determine the direction of their brain development.
Wootton Community Nursery’s environment is carefully designed to enable children to get the most out of their time with us. All resources and equipment are brand new at the time of opening and overall the environment is open, clean and fresh!
